Congratulations to Jordan Bowman for Gifted Scholarship
Congratulations to Jordan Bowman for Gifted ScholarshipJordan Bowman, ninth grade student at Manchester High School, received the South Central Ohio Educational Service Center Gifted Scholarship. The ceremony was held on Wednesday, May 10, at the Friends' Center in Portsmouth, Ohio. Jordan plans to attend an IT Engineering summer enrichment program at The Ohio State University with a concentration in 3-D graphic design.

The Gifted Services Department of the South Central Ohio Educational Service Center offers scholarships to students currently enrolled in grades 5 through 11 who have been identified as Gifted (through Ohio Dept. of Education approved assessment) to attend Summer Enrichment Programs. We do not offer our own Enrichment Programs, but rather help students with the costs of attending their own chosen Enrichment Program.  This year 40 students were awarded scholarships which will pay either for all or part of their summer enrichment tuition costs.
The South Central Ohio ESC Gifted Services Department acts as liaison between businesses, individuals and organizations willing to sponsor Summer Enrichment Programs and students who are identified as gifted and interested in participating in those programs. Sponsorship is important because it provides the opportunity for students who otherwise might not be able to attend these programs offered by colleges and universities throughout the nation.  A special thanks for all of this year's sponsors.
